The Friends of the Mercy Children's Centre projects are currently in Kenya through the Mercy Children's Centre.
- Our two schools provide education to over 400 elementary students.
- We are now also providing scholarships for secondary education to two top graduates from the MCC.
- In 2007, we gave students in class 4 and 5 of a chance to document their lives through our photo project.

Thanks to several major capital improvements in 2009, the Bumala Campus now has...
- Seven buildings, including 4 classroom buildings, a kitchen, and a multi-purpose building with offices and future dorm rooms
- Electricity hookup and wiring and lighting throughout most of the buildings
- Computer classroom and sewing classroom with which they now provide training and workshops for other students from the Bumala community in these rooms
- Assembly hall and an overhead projector for “movie nights” and presentations
- Dormitory rooms that can house up to about 32 students (not yet occupied)

Starting in 2010, the Friends of the Mercy Children Centre gave scholarships to two of MCC top scoring graduates. Our first graduating class (Class 8) took the Kenyan national exams this past December, which must be passed to attend secondary school (high school). One of them, Dancan, received the best score from all the 150 students in the Kawangware area of Nairobi. He and Valentine, our other top scorer, have recieved scholarships to cover a quality academic boarding school in Western Kenya for their four year secondary education. Thank you so much Francois and Jerry! When our board members, Lili Fulton and Elisabeth Fulton visited them in March, they found Dancan and Valentine enjoying their new environment very much.
