Starting in 2010, the Friends of the Mercy Children Centre gave scholarships to two of MCC top scoring graduates. Our first graduating class (Class 8) took the Kenyan national exams this past December, which must be passed to attend secondary school (high school). One of them, Dancan, received the best score from all the 150 students in the Kawangware area of Nairobi. He and Valentine, our other top scorer, have recieved scholarships to cover a quality academic boarding school in Western Kenya for their four year secondary education. Thank you so much Francois and Jerry! When our board members, Lili Fulton and Elisabeth Fulton visited them in March, they found Dancan and Valentine enjoying their new environment very much. Here they are in March.
