The Bumala Campus is located in a rural village in Western Kenya. Bumala is headmaster Charles Odour’s home town.

In addition to providing education to over 250 students the MCC provides the following in Bumala:

Land: The campus is situated on five acres of land owned by the MCC. This has enabled the MCC, FMCC, and Canadian-Partner, One Child’s Village to build permanent classrooms, facilities, and dormitories.

Meals: The land and kitchen enables MCC staff to provide breakfast and lunch to all its students. Crops and fruit trees are grown on the premises to supply food for the students and staff.

Computer and Sewing Certificate Program: The MCC is striving toward self-sustainability. To generate income and ensure free education for the orphans, older students from the area pay a small tuition for classes to obtain computer and sewing certificates .

HIV/AIDS Treatment: The school currently has 250 children from pre-school to class 5, who are all certified orphans from the surrounding community. Unfortunately, Western Kenya has a very high rate of HIV/AIDs and over a fifth of these orphans are HIV positive. The MCC provides students with HIV treatment.
